Ferratelle Abruzzesi, also known as Pizzelle or Neole depending on the area, are a typical dessert from Abruzzo.
These crispy and light wafers are prepared with a simple mixture of eggs, sugar, extra virgin olive oil, flour and grated lemon peel.
The cooking takes place using a typical plate, which prints different designs on the wafers.
Ideal for breakfast or a snack, ferratelle can be enjoyed alone or filled with jams, creams or honey, making them versatile and irresistible at any time of the day.

Ingredients:

• 5 eggs
• 70 g of sugar
• 20 g of extra virgin olive oil
• 140 g of 00 flour (adjust for consistency)
• Grated untreated lemon peel

The preparation is quick and only requires the use of an electric or stovetop plate. This dessert represents a much-loved culinary tradition in Abruzzo, suitable to be prepared and shared on any occasion.
